Fibre is an indigestible food component that has health benefits for the human body. Schnitzer products can support the intake of 30 g of fibre per day recommended by the German Nutrition Society (DGE).

The Health Claim Regulation defines various fibre claims in food products. A food product is a "source of dietary fibre" if it contains at least 3 g of dietary fibre per 100 g of product. A high fibre content of at least 6 g per 100 g can be described as "rich in fibre".

Fibre supports the human body. They regulate blood sugar levels and make you feel fuller for longer. They also protect against high blood pressure and promote intestinal health.

Xanthan gum is a long-chain carbohydrate and is used in gluten-free foods as a thickening and gelling agent. It binds water to the other ingredients, making the dough more elastic and mouldable. Xanthan gum also keeps products fresh for longer and prevents bread from staling.

The Schnitzer products are produced on the basis of different flours, such as rice flour, corn flour, buckwheat flour and wholemeal oat flour. The respective ingredients can be found on the product packaging and in the product description in the webshop.

Mills & flackers

The electric mills (Cerealos, Vario) can be used to grind corn in stages.

Among our grinding attachments, only the Bosch, Kitchen-Aid and Kenwood large attachments are suitable for processing corn in stages.

The Country is the only hand mill in our range that can grind maize.

The electric mills (Cerealos, Vario)can be used to grind brown rice and white rice.

Only the Bosch, Kitchen-Aid and Kenwood large grinding attachments are suitable for grinding rice.

With the small Jupiter and Kenwood small grinding attachments, we recommend processing the rice in stages.
Of the hand mills, the Country, Manus I and CH are suitable for grinding rice.

We do not recommend grinding parboiled rice with our mills.

All our grinders have a stone grinder. This is generally not suitable for grinding seeds containing oil, as this causes the stones to become brittle and stick together. 1 tablespoon of linseed, sesame and chia mixed with 500 g of grain can be ground with the electric mills and the grinding attachments.

The manual mills are generally not suitable for grinding oily seeds.

Our Campo with stainless steel rollers is suitable for flaking oily seeds

.

Excluding corn, all types of grain that are roughly the size of a grain of wheat can be flaked.

The only difference between our flakers is that the Campo with stainless steel rollers allows you to flake oily seeds in addition to grain. This is not possible with the Campo with stone rollers, as the oil in the seeds can cause the stones to stick together and become brittle.

It depends on how much flour you want to grind at a time.

The Cerealo 125 allows you to grind up to 125 g of fine flour per minute and a maximum of 2.0 kg in one process.

With the Cerealo 200, you can grind up to 200 g of fine flour per minute and a maximum of 3.0 kg in one process.

The grinders should not be operated for long periods at a time, as otherwise the motor may overheat and the grinder may be damaged.

Repair takes between 6-8 weeks.

The warranty period of 5 years begins with the purchase of one of our appliances. Simply keep the invoice and send it with the warranty claim. No separate registration is necessary! During the guarantee period, Schnitzer will rectify all defects that are demonstrably due to material faults or faulty workmanship. The guarantee assumes that the appliance has been used properly.

It may be that the grains have become jammed between the stones. This happens when the grinder is first filled and then switched on. Mills should always be switched on first and then filled.

To solve the problem, remove the grain from the mill. You may need to set the grinder to coarse so that all the grain falls out. The grinder can then be switched on again and refilled.
