Racexract Schnitzer Team with Cedric Osterholt

Cedric Osterholt has also been part of the racextract Schnitzer racing team since 2026. The 27-year-old triathlete – based in Saarbrücken – comes from a sports-enthusiast family in the Münsterland region and has dedicated himself to triathlon, just like his twin brother Jonas.

This came about through curiosity, internal motivation, and an enthusiasm for new sports. Cedric had learned to swim at a very early age at the local swimming club. When Bambini runs were subsequently offered at the local outdoor pool, Cedric naturally wanted to try his hand at those as well. It then seemed logical for Cedric to give a duathlon (an endurance sport consisting of the two disciplines of cycling and running) a try. He actually found he enjoyed it a great deal. Well, unfortunately, the number of duathlons on offer was limited, so Cedric figured that since he could already swim, he might as well move straight on to triathlon.

And here we are. That is how Cedric ended up in triathlon, and in the meantime, he has established himself in German triathlon competition. What fascinates Cedric most about triathlon is the variety of the disciplines within training and competition, as well as the challenge of reaching a high level in all three disciplines to be able to compete with the top tier.

Cedric has a favorite discipline – cycling. He particularly enjoys long rides.

Cedric manages his stressful daily routine between university (Master's degree in mechanical engineering) and elite sports primarily through good time management and strict discipline – two traits that are also of great importance in triathlon competition. It is convenient, then, that Cedric finds his balance in everyday life through sport.

After all, the sport is very time-consuming and takes up a large part of the day. A training day usually consists of three sessions. Cedric likes to swim in the morning. Cycling and running follow in the afternoon.

His disciplined training has already paid off. In 2026, Cedric was able to celebrate his first major success. With his victory at the IRONMAN® 70.3 in Kraichgau, Cedric made a major statement and secured his participation in the IRONMAN® 70.3 World Championship in Nice. We are keeping our fingers crossed that he can achieve his self-imposed goal – a top-10 finish – there.

His daily training routine is also accompanied by a conscious diet. Especially during intense training phases, Cedric largely avoids gluten. Because accompanied by days of heavy exertion comes a high intake of food, and here Cedric has found that a gluten-free diet helps him to unburden his stomach and avoid stomach problems.

Cedric's favorite is Schnitzer Sourdough Bread Chia & Quinoa, which he prefers to consume in the afternoon as a snack before his third training session. With it, he likes to make a fried egg and tops the bread with herb cream cheese and cucumber.
