Schnitzer Sportsteam with Jonas Hoffmann

The triathlete & Ironman professional athlete has been on a gluten-free diet since 2020. This 2024 season, he will be competing in the Schnitzer x racextract racing suit. .

Jonas Hoffmann was enthusiastic about sport from an early age and eventually came to triathlon via athletics. For him, the fascination of this sport lies in the variation and complexity of the disciplines. .
Beautiful, honest & enduring - this is how the professional athlete describes his sport. The triathlete contests his races at the so-called IRONMAN competitions. The global ‘World Triathlon Organisation’ has turned the name IRONMAN into a brand. Every year, competitions are held all over the world in which athletes put their skills to the test and compete against each other. This involves swimming 3.8 km, cycling 180 km and running 42 km (marathon). For us, this is the real master discipline!

The collaboration

How does Schnitzer fit into the story?

A love of high-quality nutrition flows in Schnitzer's blood. Since the company was founded over 50 years ago, it has been committed to producing nutritionally sound food. The shortest possible list of ingredients, high-quality raw materials and gluten-free - that's what Schnitzer stands for. .

Jonas' favourite Schnitzer product is the organic Bread Less. The proteins in the bread help the top athlete to absorb enough protein after training. ‘It also tastes incredibly delicious and is an absolute all-rounder! I eat the Bread Less on various occasions and like to eat it with a savoury topping,’ says Jonas Hoffmann.

Daily life as a professional athlete

Consistency is key - that is clearly Jonas' training motto.
For a short time now, the athlete has been able to concentrate fully on the sport. Balancing his normal professional life with the time-intensive sport of triathlon was a real challenge. In addition to a 40-hour week, he quickly added 20 hours+ of training on top of that. As a professional athlete, Jonas no longer has to complete his training sessions before, after work and during his lunch break.

A typical training day for Jonas comprises between 2-3 sessions. The first one often takes place before breakfast. An all-time favourite breakfast for Jonas is a simple honey bread, and of course the Schnitzer bread is a must. As a full-time athlete, Jonas now has time for sufficient regeneration and recovery between sessions. There are also organisational tasks such as planning the next competition trips or social media. Planning around a race takes up a lot of time and should not be underestimated. There should also be plenty of time to liaise with coach Jörg Scheiderbauer. Training planning, analyses and bike fittings take place regularly. The fact that his own coach designs the bikes is a great advantage. Jörg also has a lot of experience in the industry and loves to spend every spare minute training.

Jonas shares his passion for the sport with the entire Racextract Racing Team, which has been a great help to him for many years.
